YouTube live, together with your other platforms

Restreaming to YouTube means you send one stream from OBS to our server and we deliver it to YouTube while the same picture goes to Twitch, Kick, Aparat or anywhere else you add. Your upload carries one stream instead of one per platform.

Your video is never re-encoded: the 1080p60 or 1440p you send reaches YouTube without any loss. If a route has trouble, the stream moves to the next healthy route within seconds and your live keeps going.

Watch the status and bitrate of every destination from one dashboard while you stream.

Set up YouTube in 3 steps

  1. Copy your YouTube stream key

YouTube Studio → Go live → Stream → Stream key

    YouTube server address: rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2

  2. Add YouTube as a destination

In your Parto Stream dashboard, open Destinations, pick YouTube and paste the key. Your key is stored encrypted.

  3. Stream from OBS to our server

In OBS, open Settings → Stream, set the service to Custom and enter the server address and personal key from your dashboard. Press Start Streaming and YouTube goes live together with your other destinations.

Restreaming to YouTube: FAQ

Can I go live on YouTube and YouTube at the same time?

Yes. Add YouTube and YouTube as two destinations in your dashboard; both go live together from the one stream you send.

What are the best OBS settings for YouTube?

Resolution 1080p60 or 1440p60, bitrate 6 to 9 Mbps for 1080p60, a 2-second keyframe interval and AAC, 160 kbps, 48 kHz audio. We never re-encode your video, so these settings reach YouTube exactly as you send them.

How is traffic to YouTube counted?

Each gigabyte sent to YouTube uses one gigabyte of your plan. A 6 Mbps stream for one hour is about 2.7 GB.
